Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology is a national “double first-class” university and a high-level university in Jiangsu.The school was founded in 1960 in response to the needs of the national strategy and national economic construction of New China. It is affiliated to the Meteorological Bureau of the Central Military Commission. It was formerly known as the School of Meteorology of Nanjing University. In 1963, it was independently established as the Nanjing Meteorological Institute.
